Impressions of “Code Breakers [Part 2]” by Simon Singh, translated by Kaoru Aoki:
I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of cryptography!
Below are my thoughts, including spoilers!
I could read it with delight, almost like reading a novel! It doesn’t feel like a typical book about the history of cryptography. I also enjoyed it as a story!
Deciphering ancient scripts was exciting! It evoked a similar atmosphere to the decryption of codes. I wonder if codebreakers and analysts of ancient scripts share a similar mindset in their work?
As it delved into the world of computers, it became even more enjoyable! Will cryptography be impossible without computers in the future? Computers seem indispensable in our world today!
Is quantum cryptography truly unbreakable? Is there no chance of defeat due to something undiscovered? Will the cat-and-mouse game of encryption and decryption come to an end here? Am I the only one excited about the process of creating and breaking codes? It might not be a good thing, but I’m curious to see the process of quantum cryptography being broken and new codes being created…
Has quantum cryptography already been put into practical use? RSA seems a bit outdated, so maybe reading another book for the latest information would be a good idea? Thanks to this book, my understanding of cryptography seems to have deepened!
