ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 4 ~栞子さんと二つの顔~ 三上延 感想

**Biblia Antique Bookshop Case Files 4: Shioriko-san and the Two Faces**

By En Mikami

Oh, isn’t it unusual that the cover doesn’t have its eyes closed?

The following contains spoilers and thoughts!

Wow, there are illustrations of various characters! Who is who? I can recognize Shioriko-san, Goura-san, and Fumika-san. The person sitting in a wheelchair in the back must be Tanabe-san, and pushing the wheelchair is likely Kijima-san? The man in the front wearing red clothes is peeling a snow pea, so could that be Shida-san? The man sitting on the sofa in the back, could he be Yoshihiko Kajiyama? And who might be the person holding a cane? The main member who has yet to be depicted and appeared this time might be Inoue-san, right? Then, the person a bit above that could likely be Naomi Kajiyama! And then there’s the man pictured behind Kijima-san and the others. Hmm, behind Kijima-san and the others? Aki Kajiyama? Well, the person with the cane could also possibly be Aki Kajiyama… But, it somehow feels off if Inoue-san is supposed to be behind Kijima and the others… Then, perhaps the person holding the cane is indeed Inoue-san?

This was a lengthy story! It contained mysteries that couldn’t be solved in a short story! Since the story revolves around an author rather than a single book, it makes sense that it took up an entire volume!

Finally, Shioriko-san’s mother…! She indeed seems more knowledgeable about antique books than Shioriko-san… This is formidable…

To think that Shida-san was a spy… I thought he was a good person… Well, it might have been hard for Shioriko-san to say anything, considering she doesn’t seem to think very highly of her mother, unlike Fumika-san… Still, if the mother was curious about the family, why didn’t she ask directly? She knew the store’s phone number, so she must have been avoiding it intentionally, right? Antique books that you can’t get while sane. Are these books more important than family, something to be prioritized over family? What kind of…

A great earthquake causes collectors to sell their books? Why is that…? Maybe it’s because the house could collapse due to the earthquake, damaging the books, so it’s better to sell them for money before that happens?

Edogawa Ranpo. I haven’t read his works… Maybe I should give them a try…

Secret mechanisms in the house! That sounds fun! Even if you’re not Aki Kajiyama, this could still be exciting!

Hmm, is there still a thing about buying a debut book of a new author now, thinking it might become valuable if they become famous later? It could be a good investment if they become famous and leave a legacy, but it’s hard to predict who will become famous, so it might be a bit of a gamble…

A date! Goura-san is proactive! And he even confesses! What will be the response? Hmm, if it’s not OK, the following developments might be difficult… Could it be a situation where even if it’s a No at first, it eventually becomes a Yes?
