Geopolitics from the Age of 13: Navigating the Globe with Kaizoku – Thoughts by Takayuki Tanaka

Geopolitics is fascinating!

Below are my impressions, including spoilers!

So, the country that dominates the seas is the strongest! Does that mean inland countries are at a disadvantage? Well, currently, it seems like the sea is an advantageous means of transportation, but could there be opportunities for inland countries if this perception changes?

I didn’t really feel it, but originally, the Japanese people were immigrants, right? Oh, but weren’t the ancestors of humanity born in Africa? In that case, could it be said that, apart from Africa, all countries are immigrant nations? Hmm, maybe I’m stretching it a bit too far…

Missiles are hidden in the deep sea! And now I understand why China wants the East China Sea! Kaizoku-san’s explanations are incredibly easy to grasp! Kaizoku-san seems like a good teacher!

The day Japan possesses nuclear bombs… I can’t imagine it in the current situation, but if attacked by another country, public opinion might change, right? If your family were killed. If Japan were bombed with nuclear weapons again. Can you really refrain from retaliation?

I see, cold countries like Russia have limited habitable land for people? If they could effectively use the surplus land, the country would become incredibly wealthy! Well, countries like Russia might be researching ways to effectively use such land day and night.

African leaders are sending money to Europe…? Prioritizing personal gain over the nation? If this system changes, will African countries become prosperous?

Perspectives change with different positions, don’t they? Maybe it’s good to look at things from various angles, not just one-sided. If many people realize this, could wars decrease? Or is it important to have tolerance and respect for others’ opinions? Even if you can’t understand the other person’s feelings, avoiding conflicts might be possible with a broad-minded approach. However, not everyone has the mental space for that, and there are situations where unforgivable things may arise, right? Completely eliminating war might be challenging…

It made me think about various things!
